NYC2012 Launches Broadcast-Standard Video Site For News Media; New York's Olympic Bid Committee In support of its efforts to build local, national and international support and win the 2012 Olympic Games for New York City, NYC2012 has teamed with The NewsMarket, an online video archive and delivery platform, to make broadcast-standard video images of New York readily available to television journalists around the world. NYC2012's BroadcastRoom was released to coincide with the IOC Evaluation Commission's visit to the City. NYC2012 has joined companies such as DaimlerChrysler and Verizon Wireless in recognizing both the power of broadcast television to influence public opinion and the importance of their Web sites in reaching television journalists.
NYC2012's new BroadcastRoom is seamlessly integrated with its Web site and is accessible to journalists at http://www.nyc2012.org/ . It features video of the proposed Olympic venues; New York City landmarks and transportation infrastructure; NYC2012's advertising campaign; former Olympians, Paralympians and Mayor Michael Bloomberg on why New York will win the 2012 Olympic bid and more.
The NewsMarket's BroadcastRoom is a turnkey, platform-independent solution for archiving and distributing broadcast-standard video and other multimedia assets, including high-resolution stills, text documents, audio files and graphics. The NewsMarket manages and hosts NYC2012's content.
"NYC2012 recognizes that television news coverage is crucial to creating a positive perception of New York City's Olympic bid and ultimately winning the games. The NewsMarket's BroadcastRoom platform enables NYC2012 to fully engage television journalists via the Web without requiring substantial
investments in technology or manpower. The NewsMarket handles registration and fulfillment, leaving NYC2012 communications staff free to cultivate personal relationships with key media contacts," said Shoba Purushothaman, CEO and co-founder of The NewsMarket.
