Customer Reviews
great MP3 player![]()
I just got my player this week and have already downloaded videos and music. I love how easy it is to use. The battery is charged and so
far no problems. I was hesitant to buy this player with so many people having problems. I think it's great. I didn't want to be tied down
to itunes with buying an ipod and I love amazon. They've always had fast reliable service if I've had a problem and everything has always
arrived fast and on time. I download all my music and videos from Amazon and loved that this player was compatable with unbox. Maybe
those low ratings were just the lemons and not the overall quality of the product. Don't be afraid to buy this, it's a great player.
Almost Perfect - Better Than iPods![]()
From iPod mini -> iPod Shuffle -> Zune 30G -> Sansa Clip -> Zen Stone -> Zen.
Pros:
1. Size and price
2. Screen is very bright, even at 50%
3. Pretty decent battery life compared to HD based players - not sure how it compares to ipod nano or zune 4/8G
4. Drap and drop (plays mp3 and WMA)
5. Uses regular miniUSB for power and sync (can charge using your RAZR, Blackberry chargers, etc)
6. Uses standard SD cards (none of this mini, micro SD stuff)
7. FM tuner/voice recorder, photo viewer
Cons:
1. Need better video codecs so you dont have to convert. Not sure why but the converter converts to WMV but it won't play other WMV files
without converting it first??
2. Software will not let you pick which features to install (it just installs all of it - I only needed the video converter)
3. It won't let you combine both internal memory and SD content into one big list. You have to play off the SD card separate (there is
separate menu for browsing the SD card)
Definitely pay the extra money for both the silicone cases and screen protector. The screen protectors comes in a pack of 3 (messed up
the first one - trick to placing them - start at one end and place a toothpick at the other in case you need to remove it to realign it.
Once it goes down, its hard to get off without bending a corner)
loved it if it would've just worked right....![]()
i researched this a lot before i bought it. cnet reviews, online reviews. overall the negatives were a minimum and i loved the look of it
so i got it. I did love the look and feel of it. I loved the way it worked, until it started screwing up. The first one the clock kept
getting an hour or two off on and the battery seemed like it wasn't lasting as long as it said it would, 25 hours. i realize a clock is a
small gripe, but my thought was if that's screwed up i'm worried something else is. So i sent it back and Amazon sent me another one.
this time i charged it till it was fully charged before i listened to it each day. I took it home Friday and after maybe listening to it
a total of maybe 2 hours while in the car over 2 days the battery was competely depleted. It also shut itself down a couple times a week.
i emailed customer service again and they said to send it back for a refund cause they'd had numerous other complaints about the same
type thing and obviously the problem was wider ranged than previously suspected. Real bummer really, cause like i said, when it worked i
really did like it. If they could get all the bugs out of it i'd love to have it, but now i'm looking at the newest Sansa player. Overall
though i'll say the experience, although trying at times, was a good one cause now i know exactly how spectacular Amazon's customer
service is and i'll continue shopping here and tell everyone i know. As for Creative players, i don't think i'll be trying them
again.
